October 31, 2009 was added in the annals of SJC as Thanksgiving Day. A Holy Mass was organized in the evening at 5.30 pm presided by our Bishop Rt. Rev. Isidore Fernandes. The staff present and the past along with the priests and sisters of the diocese of Allahabad and other dignitaries from the city were present to offer their prayers of thanksgiving and to seek blessings from the almighty. The mass was organized in the quadrangle. The beautifully decorated stage, the melodious singing by the college choir comprising of teachers and students under the guidance of Mr. O. Wright, Mr. W. Joseph and Mr. L. Ducasse created an atmosphere of prayer. Ms. L. Moore offered prayers of the faithful while symbolic offerings were made by the representatives of teachers, students and retired staff.

After the mass there was a short programme of felicitation where the retired staff members were honoured with a shawl and mementos by the chairman, Rt. Rev. Isidore Fernandes. It was indeed a great feeling to have most of our retired teachers and staff. A sumptuous meal was served to enhance the joy of the gathering.
