"Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the
vehicle we arrive in." Continuing its golden
winning streak the Gold House again proved itself
to be the best. Owing to its untiring pursuit of victory,
glory and pride Gold house this once again
emerged with the prestigious 'Cock House Shield'
which symbolized our overall supremacy in the field
of sports. The year 2008-09 was indeed a gratifying
year the Gold House on account of their zeal and
persistent efforts.
The year started with the Investiture
Ceremony where the responsibilities the house
were entrusted to Amit Tandon, with Alpit Saxena
as Vice Captain and Samarth Singh as C Squad
Leader. After this solemn occasion began the
plethora of activities that kept us busy all the year
long.
We had a flying start for the year when
we secured the first place in the Inter House
Swimming. Then we had the most exciting and
loved event of our school, the Inter House
Football. Here, we overcame our expectations
and stood second overall due to the skillful game
of Amit Tandon and Samarth Singh. We fared
well in Basketball coming Second in both
Seniors and Juniors due to excellent efforts of
Robin Singh but could not manage to do the same in Chess and came third. With only a minor lead above the other houses for the
prestigious 'Cock House Shield', we needed
some more efforts to remain at the top. Our hard
work yielded results when in Badminton we
surprised everyone by coming Second in
Seniors and First in Juniors and therefore overall
First. In Table Tennis, none of the other houses
could match the speed and skills of our players
and we emerged as the Winners. The exciting
game of Cricket also brought us laurels when our
team led by Ritesh Kewlani was unbeaten and
came First overall with commendable
performances by Amit, Devesh Bannerjee,
Shiva Yadav who was adjudged the 'Best
Bowler' and Snehil Yadav who was adjudged the
'Best Fielder'. Athletics saw us coming Second
overall with excellent performances by the
Juniors.
With the help of collective hard work of the
boys throughout the year, Gold House received the
Cock House Shield for the Second year in a row.
I would like to thank Mr. Owen Wright, our
house master who guided us well to glory. I would
also like to thank Samarth Singh and Shubham
Jaiswal who worked very hard for the house
throughout the year.
The year taught us to rise above selfish
interests and adopt a more selfless and benign
attitude. I hope the Gold House boys will never
forget that "Efforts Spell Success" and continue to
rise to greater heights of glory.

" All is well that ends well." We started well by
coming second in the Inter House Swimming
with Srijan Singh and Aroun Dalawat doing
their best. Then luck stopped favouring us, With
Zubair Ullah (House Captain) and Abhinav
Kumar showing their dribbling abilities, we
came third in football. But we did not lose
hope, and under the able guidance and
motivation of our House Master Mr. Leone
Andre Ducasse we captured the second place
in the game of 'Best Brains', that is, chess,
Although our basketball captain Saurav
Pandey did his best, we were positioned only
the fourth in basketball due to lack of co-
ordination, We had to be content with the third
place in Table Tennis and Badminton, with our
junior team performing really well.
The day of final showdown, the Annual
athletic meet came. Showing their
power and stamina, our boys
emerged out as champions in the
tug-a-war, Showing perfect co-ordination, we bagged the
'Marching Shield',
We got a firm hold on the
'Discipline and P.T. Shields' too,
Zubair Ullah (1st in Broad jump; 2nd
in the 400 mts race; 3rd in the 200
mts race) was awarded the 'Best
Sportsman of the Year,' Siddharth
Singh got the 'Best All Rounder" in
the junior category. Finally, the Red
house came third in the athletics
and ended with the Red House
getting the maximum number of
shields, All this made the session 2008-09 a memorable one.
In the end, I would like to thank our
House Master Mr. Leone A. Ducasse, for his
constant support and guidance, Zubair Ullah
(Captian), Saurav Pandey, Anuj Vikram
Singh, Mudassir, Ahmar Zaman, Skand Raj,

" Go Green. Green the world. Green Up the
planet. Work for a Greener tomorrow!" The
Green House says it all!
Under the able guidance of Mr. A McGowan
Green House performed really well. The
sporting activities started with the Inter House
Football tournament in which we didn't fare well
and had to be content with the third position,
same was the case in the aquatics. Next in line
was the Inter House Chess tournament in which
our grandmasters grabbed the first position. IN
the badminton tournament we tried our level
best but had to be content with the second
position, next was the Inter House table Tennis
tournament in which we came second. In the
Inter House Basketball tournament Green
House proved superior to all other houses and
came first thanks to the majestic ball play of
Siddharth Singh the Captain of the House and
Ankit Anthony the Athletic Captain.
Although we tried our level best in
cricket but we had to be content with
the third position, Siddharth Singh
the House Captain and Gautam
Matlani the House Vice Captain were
declared as the Best All-Rounder and
the Best Batsman respectively which
was a saving grace. Asif Ali broke the
marathon record in. the senior
division at the tender age of fourteen.
Ankit Anthony, Tanay Dey, Asif Ali
and Amar Sukesh Tirkey were a part
of the Uttar Pradesh (National)
Basketball Team.
We missed the Cock House
Shield, the Athletic Shield and the
Discipline Shield by a whisker and
had to be content with the second
position. In all the departments
Green House was consistent and I
guess luck was not on our side.
I would like to thank my vice-captain
Gautam Matlani for all his help and co-operation.
I would also like to thank our Athletic Captain
Ankit Anthony, Alok Ojha, Vibhor Raj, Asif Ali,
Amar Tirkey and Divyadeep Manu and all the
boys of Green House for their co-operation.
Finally I would like to thank Mr. A
McGowan, our house master who led the house
to glorious moments of victory. It was a
memorable journey and I would like to thank all
those who stood by me and I just hope Green
House carries the good work forward.

BLUE
HOUSE REPORT
|
|
| |
" The secret of success is being crystal clear as to
your purpose and directions, and having the
courage to act accordingly." Indeed, this was the
'key' spirit to success and achievements of the
Blue House in the year 2008-09. Under my
leadership, assisted by the vice captain Ankit
Sharma and guided by our House Master Mr. A.
Simon, this year proved to be a memorable one
for the Blue House.
The Inter House sporting activities started
with the aquatics competition, in which our
performance was not up to the mark, even
though the boys showed some mettle. Next was
the Inter House Football tournament in which we
emerged as deserving champions, Akshay Singh
and Samarth Singh were the top scorers of the
tournament. I also contributed my best in the
tournament. Our juniors played brilliantly and
emerged as winners, maintaining our glory.
This was followed by the Inter House
Table Tennis tournament in which we did not
perform up to our potential, but the fabulous
skillful play of Abhijeet Parolia was applauded by
one and all. In Badminton tournament, again our
performance was not up to the mark, even
though the boys showed some determination.
The Blue House grandmasters trapped the
opponents with crafty moves but had to be
satisfied with the third place in the chess
tournament.
In the passionate game of Cricket we rose
up to the second spot, owing to some extra-
ordinary batting by Shikhar Suri. He made a
staggering total of 85 runs in three matches, and
was adjudged the third best batsman of the
tournament.
This year will also be remembered for the
memorable performance of the Blue House in
Athletics. We were in the race for the prestigious
athletic shield. The boys of the Blue House rose to
the occasion and we went on to grab the coveted
Athletic shield. Nabeel Ahmad, Md. Zeeshan and
Abhijeet Singh walked away with the a division,
A division and B division championship
respectively. I was lucky to give gold to the House
in the 800 mts race, while I had to be content with
fourth place in the Cross Country Race. The
contributions of Akshay Singh, Amit Singh and
Gaurav Kapoor in athletics cannot be just
sidelined. Ankit Sharma and Siddhartha Kr.
Singh walked away with the A division and O
division cycle race championship respectively. In
the Tug-a-war our strong pullers were not able to
match up to the opponents and we remained in
the second position. Adding another feather to
their achievements Gaurav Kapoor was
adjudged as the fastest runner striking 11.7
seconds in the 100 mts race.
In the end I would like to thank our House
Master, Mr. A. Simon for his constant motivation,
ever encouraging words,' hard work and
commitment throughout the year, as under his
guidance we emerge as winning warriors. I am
also grateful to my assistant Ankit Sharma, and all
the boys of the Blue House.
I wish best of luck to my juniors for their
prosperous future. Remember friends: "Never
bend your head. Always hold it high. Success is
doing, not winning."
