The Post Centenary XXIII Annual Sports and P.T. display of St. Joseph’s College, Allahabad, was held on the 17th of November 2007. The programme commenced at 1.00 p.m. with a special prayer service led by the Bishop of the Catholic diocese of Allahabad in the College chapel. The Chief Guest for the function was Brig. R.R.K. Nair, President, 11 SSB, Selection Centre East, Allahabad and Rt. Rev. Isidore Fernandes, Bishop of Allahabad was the Guest of Honour. Brig. Nair unfurled the College Flag and declared the sports meet open. Blue House annexed the athletic shield with 147 points, while Gold House won the Marching shield. Red House was adjudged Best Disciplined House and Gold House won the Cock House Shield.  Tug-o-War which was one of the most exciting events of the sports meet, was won by the Red House. In the ‘O’ division, Vivek Tripathi, Gorkhy Sinha and Nabeel Farooqui were joint champions with 14 points each. Salman Siddiqui of Green House was ‘A’ division champion, while Mohd. Farooqui of Gold House and Utkarsh Sharma also of Gold House were champions in B and C division respectively.

In his presidential address Brig. Nair appreciated the sportsman spirit of all the students and congratulated the students and the organizers for putting up such a wonderful programme.

A new dimension was added to the Annual Sports of St. Joseph’s College, when a special Trophy Called the Father Rego Scholar 2007, instituted by Alumni of the Class of 1974, was awarded to Shikhar Gupta for topping the school in the ICSE Board Examinations 2007, with 96.6%. The prize comprises a scholarship of Rs. 5,000/-, a Rego Scholar Blazer and a replica of the Trophy.
