The final day of the six-day long post centenary silver jubilee celebrations of St. Joseph’s College celebrated as alumni day was a sentimental moment of home coming for the Josephites where they could meet their old buddies on Saturday evening. The dignitaries like Mr. Justice Madan Lokur of Delhi High Court, Dr. A.N. Verma, Retired Head of Department of Orthopaedics, Medical College Allahabad, former principals Rt. Rev. Dr. Isidore Fernandes presently the bishop of the catholic diocese of Allahabad and Rev. Fr. K.K. A grand cultural evening was organized in honour of Ex-students where the boys presented various dances, songs and plays. The scintillating program began with the opening ceremony and prayer dance. The rock band from the old students enthralled the audience. The grandeur, glory and fame of Akbar was displayed through a dance, while victory of good over evil was depicted through another dance called Harmony in the Hell. The bilingual play 'Master minder Boomeranger' was a perfect blend of media and dramatics which created a thrill and suspense in the audience. The English choir through their song "We are the World" tried to revive the sentiments of hope, love and faith in today's world. The rhythmic motions harmonized with music overwhelmed the spectators with the fusion dance.
Earlier the principal Rev. Fr. Louis Mascarenhas accorded a warm welcome to the old students to the alumni and wished them an enthusiastic home coming. The program was splendidly anchored by Mr. A. MacGowan. Mr. Francis Moore, Ex-MLA, Ex-student and Ex-teacher expressed the heartfelt sentiments of gratitude towards the college management.
